About Chief Jim Murphy (Retired)
Chief Murphy is a 32 year veteran of the Fire Service where he served as a Firefighter, Engineer, Paramedic, Deputy Sheriff, Chief Flight Medic, Company Officer, and Incident Command School Training Officer. Additionally he served on many IMT deployments
Since his retirement from Orange County Fire Rescue (Orlando, FL.) in 2007, he formed his own company, NIMS Tactical Simulations, LLC. He also serves as Chief of Training for CommandSim, teaching throughout North America, utilizing “Immersive Training”.
CommandSim is a high fidelity interactive simulator, much like the ones used by the military, public and private sectors. CommandSim facilitates the transition from NIMS/ICS compliancy to NIMS/ICS competency.
In April 2012 Sims U Share (Mobile App, and Windows/Macintosh computer versions) were introduced, which has received raved reviews, setting a new industry standard.

Thank you Ricky. It’s a honor to have you listen and to talk with great people like Chief Murphy. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for having me on your show David. Dr. Kaye and I appreciate it! I hope we encouraged your viewers to consider the use of simulation based training.
And although I really appreciate the promotion; (as a point of clarification), I was not the Chief of Orange County Fire Rescue. I retired as Incident Command School “Training Officer”.
Thanks again!!
God Bless,
Jim
