The Warning Signs
In the fire service, we either know or once were an ‘employee’.
An employee is a firefighter in title only. They meet the minimum standard, never take any initiative, and are only looking out for their own personal benefit. The value of teamwork and sacrifice has been infiltrated by words like “ambition, driven, and education over experience.”
In our Christian lives, we must understand that if we are not living out our faith that everything else will seem just as false as our beliefs.
Our motivations must be pure.
Our foundation must be solid in Christ, in His word, and we must seek Him daily. You must train to stay proficient as a firefighter; so must you seek God daily through prayer, study, and worship to grow in relationship with Him.
As a firefighter if you choose not to put on all of your PPE you will eventually pay a price for it. If you condemn others for not taking care of them while you don’t exercise or eat right you are condemning yourself by your own words. We must understand the power of our actions or lack thereof. If we profess to believe in Christ we must exemplify His love. If we profess to be a firefighter we must live out our calling not merely meet the minimum standard.
To be who you are called to be requires that your life be an example to others.
The things that you mention here, Sir, are why I fell in love with FIREPROOF©….
While it entails the struggle of life in marriage, it also relates the bond in The Brotherhood that is The Fire Service.
To me, it shows how Christ can, and does, work in our lives if we allow Him to.
Thank You For All You Do.
Stay SAFE….
God Bless
