FirefighterToolbox Podcast/ Internet Radio Show Episode #11

Interview with FirefighteWife.com’s Lori Mercer

About this Episode:

It doesn’t matter how great you are on the fire ground or around the fire house when your marriage is in shambles and your having troubles at home, that leads to trouble at the fire house.

I have seen this over and over again.  When we are dealing with issues at home it crosses over into our work and at the firehouse.

To be great firefighters, the first fire we need to put out is the fire that destroys our marriage and our relationships.  Today, I talk with Lori Mercer from Firefighterwife.com about how we can be better husbands and understand our wifes better so we can have a better relationship which will lead to us being better on the fire ground.  Lots of great items covered here on a topic that few firefighters talk about, yet its very important.

(Sorry for the Female firefighters,  I am looking for FirefighterHusbands.com but it’s not yet developed.  I still feel this can be shared with your husband and be mutually beneficial.  See you in the comments below.)

Lori Mercer – FirefighterWife.com

Firefighter Wife is a community for the wives (fiancées & girlfriends) of firefighters whose mission is to:

  • Strengthen, ignite and rescue firefighter marriages
  • Nurture our Fire Wife community with encouragement, support and friendship
  • Build up our fire wives in mind, body and spirit to be wise, strong and enduring
  • To bring an even deeper sense of community to the entire fire family.

About Lori Mercer:

Lori Mercer AKA “WifeOnFire” is Chief Fire Wife of the Firefighterwife.com community. Lori is married to Dan, a firefighter who Lori says ”qualifies me for this noble title” . Together they give their all at parenting their 4 kids (as of May 2012 ages 12, 9, 7 and 5). Their early marriage and parenting years were a self-proclaimed train wreck and Lori truly hated the firehouse for being a wedge between herself and Dan. But lessons were learned and by the grace of God they survived! And they are here to share their story and make a safe haven of encouragement for others fire families.

Lori has 18 years experience leading global programs, product marketing and technology developments. She is a writer, speaker, graphic designer, web developer and fire wife nurturer all in one. Her programs at FirefighterWife.com currently reach over 30,000 fire wives.
