FirefighterToolbox’s Firefighter Training Podcast Episode #22

About this Episode:

Listen in to the interview with Chief Dennis Rubin and hear about Chief Rubin’s opinion on what it takes to be a great leader and officer in the fire service. See how whistling while you work is much more than enjoyment on the fire ground.
See what leading from the front is and how it works in leadership. The Chief is big on not asking someone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself and taking care of  employees before taking care of management staff.
  • If leading isn’t about power, what is it about?
  • Who are we serving?
  • Responsibilites to manage diversity in the workplace
  • A few key points from his books Rube’s Rules for Survival and Rube’s Rules for Leadership.
  • If the Chief could of anything differently as a young person, what would it be?
  • What is coming up for Chief Rubin and what do we have to look forward to?
