How To Lose Weight Easily Doing One Simple Thing

Today I’m going to tell you the most effective, yet simple thing you can do to lose weight. That’s right, this strategy is not only easy to implement, it’s the absolute best thing you can do to shed weight – something that many firefighters want (or need) to do.

This simple strategy is to avoid liquid calories. Now, before you check out because you assume I’m just talking about beer, reconsider. Calories in the form of liquid sneak into our day so easily: in soda, flavored iced teas, coffee creamer, even seemingly innocent liquids like juice and smoothies. Then, of course, there are lots of calories in alcohol – beer, wine and hard liquor.

This could be completely sabotaging your diet

The problem with drinking anything that has calories in it is that those calories do not help you feel full. Because your eyes don’t view them as food or a meal, and they don’t cause your stomach to fill up and stretch out like solid foods do, you won’t feel like you’ve eaten a bunch of calories when, in fact, you may have just drank more than an entire meal.

For example, some beers have as many calories in them as a Dairy Queen ice cream sundae. If you drank 5 of those beers or ate 5 of those sundaes, which would make you feel more full? Some of the big smoothies from places like Jamba Juice could have more calories in them than a double cheeseburger (although they do have lots of fruits in them which is good for your health).

Even a glass of apple juice has as many calories in it as several apples. Therefore, if you need to watch your calorie intake, you’re better off just eating an apple and sticking with water or other zero calorie drinks!

This ties in with one of your previous articles on top health tools and using a calorie tracker. I have been using my fitness pal for just over a year. I’ve inputted my personal recipes and need to use it daily. I definitely have noticed that when I skip logging my meals I gain body fat. When I dont keep track I end up eating too many calories. It can be a pain to do but worth the results.

    Hola Dra. Moore

Good to hear Jeremy! Those liquid calories can really sneak up on you so it’s imperative to keep an eye out for them.
